Folks at XDA have yet to release a straight forward root method for Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, but you can get root on your phone by flashing a pre rooted firmware. This ROM is fully stock and is pre rooted, which means you get the usual utilities like Super SU and busy box pre installed.

Instructions For Getting Root on Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

1) Download the ROM zip
2) Extract it in your PC
3) Download ODIN from here and extract it to your PC.
4) Put your phone in odin mode ( holding volume down , home button and power button simultaneously ) and connect it to your pc through data cable
5) Place the rom extracted file in AP column of PC ODIN
6) Click START button in PC ODIN and wait till flashing completes ODIN shows RESET " PASS" and phone reboot automatically with pre rooted firmware
7) You finally have root on your Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.

There is only known issue that is related to Wi-Fi. To counter that, just input all the Wi-Fi settings manually.

The Taiwanese company, Asus is preparing to launch a device called ASUS GameBox which will be a competitor to the portable gaming console with Android from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA Shield is not available in many European countries which is a good sign for the Taiwanese as it will be able to do good business with it.

Asus Gamebox was spotted in AnTuTu benchmark app from we learnt about most of its specs. It features quad core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor clocked at 1.6 – 1.912 GHz, Android 4.3 jelly bean operating system, Nvidia GeForce GPU, 2 gigabytes of RAM, 8 GB flash storage and resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

Since Asus Gamebox is same as Nvidia Shield, the aforementioned review will give all information you would ever need. Benchmark results are already in. Asus Gamebox got 36024 in AnTuTu which is more than enough to play any Android game out there.

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy S4 but hate Touch Wiz so much that want to get rid of it? Well, even if you install a custom home launcher, you still would not be able to totally get rid of atrocious touch wiz. The only way is to install a Google Edition firmware. On top of icing, it is using Android 4.4 base.

Download the S4 Google Edition ROM

Get it from here and put it into storage card. Then boot into recovery. Then, wipe the data and cache. Reboot the phone.

No bugs in the ROM

The best thing about this ROM is that there are no bugs at all, at least as claimed by its developer.

Where is IR blaster app?

The IR blaster app is not included so, download IR remote app from playstore. Here is the link. Also the S-view cover would not let you answer calls with the flap closed. This is actually Samsung’s fault as they have not included this functionality in Google edition Galaxy S4.

Other than that, everything is working out of the box, including TV out (MHL) functionality. Watch On, however, would not work.

TWRP for the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 has been released. After flashing TWRP, you will be able to flash your favorite custom ROM, kernels and what not. Just keep in mind that this recovery is for i9505 S4 only and shall not be used on i9500, which is the international version, the one that has 8 cores.

First, download the TWRP from here and flash it using ROM manager. If you wish to get the stock recovery (for obvious purposes), you can also do that. Download it from here.

Make sure to make a backup of your phone before you proceed as you could end up with a brick device if you do not know what you are doing.

An XDA developer user has churned out a ROM that is deodexed and claims to improve battery life of the Nexus 5 smartphone. It uses stock kernel with init.d support and is pre rooted, which means you get utilities like super user and busy box pre installed. Here are the mod included in this ROM.

Download the ROM from here and flash it. Before you do so, make sure to do a full wipe before install to avoid any problems.

Development for the LG G Flex is on fire. Few days back, we got hold of CWM and TWRP. Now, we have the root instructions for it. First get vroot from here and install it on your computer.

Connect your G Flex phone to your computer. Make sure you have activated USB debug on your phone. Start vroot and click ROOT, wait phone to reboot itself. It will now disconnect from computer. Download clockworkmod superuser from playstore on your phone. Launch it, and update binary.

Now, download Titanium backup (full version) from playstore. Stat it. Kill all open apps. Now, launch Titanium backup and freeze Vroot. It is at the end of the list. Relaunch clockworkmod superuser and re-update binary and reboot the device. Now you can uninstall Vroot using Titanium Backup.

That is it. You have successfully rooted your LG G Flex.

We have a great news for the LG G Flex owners. TWRP recovery is now available for it – F340K model to be exact. Everything works on it. To flash it, first get the img file from here.

Then, download Flashify and boot into recovery. For that, power off the device and use Volume up + power button simultaneously. You will get a scrolling effect and then you will enter recovery. Everything should work like a charm.

For those who do not know about TWRP, it is basically a touch optimized version of CWM (clock work mod).

Nexus 5 is an amazing phone, and you get regular updates on it, but you can have so much more fun with it. For instance, you can download and install the latest AOKP KitKat ROM on it. Installation is straight forward and simple.

1. If coming from another ROM or another major AOKP version, wipe data in recovery
2. Make sure you’re using the latest CWM or TWRP (recommended).
3. Download the ROM from here and flash ROM by placing it in root folder and then going into recovery.
4. Flash Google Apps (GAPPS). Download it from here and flash it in recovery. 
5. Reboot

That is it. You can successfully downloaded and install AOKP on your Nexus 5 Android phone.
