Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has hinted that the company might have to make some difficult decisions and one of those could include axing off the Windows Phone range. This rumor was confirmed by MSFTnerd who is famous for leaking out secrets of the Redmond giant.
Our sources have told us that Microsoft is abandoning completely the Windows Phone to focus on Android. The decision would include mobile phones, the whole production line and also the smaller tablets. This is an unverified rumor, but according to many sources, the rumor may well be true.
Microsoft is going through some changes at the moment and has just sold part of Bing Maps directly to Uber. Dropping Windows Phone altogether seems like a weird solution to its financial troubles so we will have to wait to see if this is what Nadella was referring to when he mentioned making difficult choices.
