For years we have been hearing rumors about a new iPhone SE 2, that special device that Apple launched several years ago that used a “recycled” design and included all the latest model technology. It seems that Apple is finally considering this option and we could see an iPhone SE 2 within a few months.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, one of Apple’s most reliable analysts, the iPhone SE 2 will be launched during the first quarter of 2020 and will be an important support for Apple’s sales. Now, thanks to rumors brewing around, we have an idea about its internal specifications and its price, and could become a real best seller if they are all true.
We were already quite clear that Apple was going to use a known design on this iPhone SE 2 and in this case, the design of the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 will be used. That is, we will have glass design but it will not be all screen, the Touch ID will remain in place.
Here are the iPhone SE 2 specifications.
A13 Bionic processor, the same as the iPhone 11.
3GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
64 GB and 128 GB storage options.
Colors: space gray, silver and red.
Without 3D Touch
Starting price: 399 dollars.
The original iPhone SE appeared just at this price and was a success. If Apple puts on the market an iPhone with its latest processor at a price of $399 there is no doubt that it will be a success and that it will be really tempting for all those users with an iPhone 6s or later.
Currently, Apple sells the new iPhone 8 64 GB for $449, so presumably the new iPhone SE 2 would improve the entire iPhone 8, both in specifications and price. This means that with total probability the iPhone 8 will disappear from the Apple Store.
The iPhone SE 2 will be more expensive. The iPhone 8 is currently priced at 539 dollars, so it does not seem far-fetched that the iPhone SE 2 appears at a price of 499 dollars in the US market.
