HP Offering Slate7 Shimajiro model in Japanese Schools

Hewlett Packard Japan Ltd has started accepting orders for the Slate7 Shimajiro model meant for young children. Shipping will commence February 20 and it will carry  a price tag of 19,800 Yen (USD 193), plus shipping charges (2,100 Yen). Early buyers will get a liquid crystal cleaner as purchase bonus. This offer is valid till March 31 only.

This special Shimajiro model adds a variety of apps via Shimajiro club. On the hardware side, the tablet is same as the vanilla Slate7. It does however comes with a silicon case as shown in the pictures.

Specs wise, it can rival any Android tablet out there, thanks to its powerful Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, stylus, 1GB RAM, 16GB flash storage, and 7 inch IPS display packing 1280×800 pixel resolution. It runs Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system.
