The new Vaio S13 with the 8th generation Intel Core series processor has been launched in USA in various SKUs with a price starting at 1200 dollars. This was not launched in Europe. The Vaio S13 specifications include 13.3 inch full HD screen with 1920×1080 pixel resolution, Intel Kabylake-R (kabylake refresh) processor and 17.7mm thinness and 1kg weight. Communication and ports selection includes three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI and one VGA, 3.5mm audio jack, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, RJ-45 (Ethernet), SD card reader to expand storage, backlit keyboard and battery which should guarantee battery life of about 8.5 hours.
The entry level SKU of Vaio S13 comes with Intel Core i5-8250U chip, 8GB of MLDDR3-1866 RAM and a 256GB PCIe solid state drive. If you spend 1600 dollars, you get Intel Core i7-8550U, 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD and for 1900 dollars, you get 16GB RAM. Spend 2200 dollars, and you get Core i7, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD.
This is a premium laptop that is built entirely from magnesium alloy and hinge that gives a slight inclination to the keyboard when the screen is open, making typing more ergonomic and also facilitating the dissipation of heat. This is not the thinnest laptop in world as Vaio opted to include fat ports at like VGA and Ethernet onboard.
Shipping will start in the starting week of February 12 2018.
