Huawei Matebook D was unveiled at an event in Berlin. While it is yet to be launched in Italy, you will be able to find it in other European markets for 799 euro. Our friends at notebookitalia have done a review of Huawei Matebook D. The frame of the Huawei Matebook D is made of monobloc aluminum alloy with CNC cutting. It has thickness of mere 16.9mm and weight of 1.9kg. While it is not as pretty as Huawei Matebook X, it has all the technical features you will ever need.
Huawei Matebook D specifications include 15.6” full HD resolution, 83 screen to body ratio, IPS panel with brightness of 250 nits and 45 percent NTSC. It is powered by Intel Core i7 / i5 kabylake 15W CPU, Intel HD 620 graphics, upto 16GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB SSD PCIe storage. If you store a lot, you can go for 1TB hard disk.
Graphics in Huawei Matebook D are handled by Nvidia GeForce 940MX 2GB graphics card which makes it ideal for professional work and some gaming. It has full size keyboard with chiclet keys. The keyboard is not backlit.
Port selection in Huawei Matebook D includes two USB 3.0 Type-A, a USB 2.0 Type-A, an HDMI port, audio jack and power connector. There is no USB Type C port. Battery life is 7 hours which is expected from its power frugal processor and 43Wh battery. It lacks fingerprint reader. Here is a video review of it.
Huawei Matebook D will be made available in three colors, grey, blue and gold. Cheapest model will cost about 799 euros which will get you i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB hard disk. The intermediate SKU comes with Core i5, 8GB and 128GB of SSD to 899 € and top-of-range SKU starts from 999 € and comes with Core i7, 8GB and 256GB SSD.
