MediaTek Helio X20 will be a 10 core chip, consisting of two core Cortex A72 plus 4 core Cortex A53 2.0 GHz and Cortex A53 at 1.4 GHz – all arranged in a triple-cluster solution. Here are the details of the MediaTek Helio X20 cores: 2 core ARM Cortex A72 2.5 GHz; 4 core ARM Cortex A53 2.0 GHz and 4 core ARM Cortex A53 1.4 GHz. MediaTek Helio X20 benchmark score is given below.
Also called MediaTek MT6797
All cores of Helio X20, also called MediaTek MT6797, are based on ARMv8 64-bit architecture. The chipset will be manufactured by TSMC with 20 nm manufacturing process with support for fast LTE Cat 6 network. There is no information yet on the GPU.
To extend battery life runtimes, MediaTek Helio X20 only uses required number of cores for a given task. Rest of the cores are deactivated. Rest of the cores will come into play only for heavier and complex activities. The result is a perfect balance between battery life and performance.
MediaTek Helio X20 benchmark in AnTuTu software
