KS-Pro UMPC with Snapdragon 835 looks like the successor to the now-outdated Sony Vaio P that made massive splashes back in 2009. This very product, like the Vaio P will also run Windows 10. KS-Pro specifications include 8.2 inch AMOLED display that packs a whopping WQHD 2560×1440 resolution. It will support touch input as well and we all know how well windows 10 works with touchscreens.
In fact, there are numerous cheap laptops with touchscreens out there that run windows 10. Graphics are handled by Adreno 540 GPU which does fine in handling a high resolution display like that. Gorilla Glass 3 is used as glass. KS-Pro specifications say it comes with 128GB eMMC storage, 8GB RAM and micro SD card expansion slot.
There is full support for 4G LTE and it comes with nano SIM slot. Wireless infrastructure include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Interface selection includes USB Type-C × 2, USB 3.0, headphone jack, 12 megapixel camera. Battery capacity is 10307mAh and manufacture claims it will run straight for 12-hours.
There is a red trackpoint in the center of the keyboard which is similar to the one being used in Lenovo ThinkPad these days. It was also used earlier in Sony Vaio P. However, that trackpoint also doubles as fingerprint reader which will bump business security.
Interestingly, Khiron-Sigma who handles KS-PRO / PROID was said to be launched by former Microsoft employees. The company is based in London.
For those who do not know, the windows 10 is currently being compiled to run on ARM chipset like Snapdragon 835 via emulation. The manufacture behind KS-Pro is planning to launch the product at CES 2018 which takes place in Las Vegas in the month of January.
